DESCRIPTION:
The Bismark Villa was declared a National monument by the Italian Ministry of Culture, in 1985.
It was built in the 2nd half of the XIX century under the supervision of the Hungarian painter Hahn on the ruins of the residence of the Roman Emperor Augustus, the renowned “Palazzo a Mare”, and at the end of the XIX century it was bought by the French painter Dubufe, who housed the renowned composer George Bizet for a long time.
In 1938 fů As the story goes, various motifs of his everlasting opera “La Carmen” were inspired by the sound of the waves that broke on the seashore and that the composer could hear from the capri villa.
